The Heinkel 51s operational debut was for the Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War.  Flown by Spanish and volunteer German pilots of the famous Condor Legion.  The He51 was outclassed by the Russian and Italian fighters and was soon replaced by the excellent Messerscmitt bf109 in the fighter role.  The He 51 continued operations as a ground attack aircraft and did relatively well in this role.  The He51 gave the Germans considerable experience and the aircraft continued to serve with the Luftwaffe during WWII primarily as a trainer or to bolster the air strength of Germany's allies.

1 model aircraft made from 1/16 inch Ash wood, included 1 flight stand made of 1/8 inch Birch plywood and two magnets.

Some assembly required.
