Entering service in the spring of 1916 the Nieuport 17 helped end the "Fokker Scourge". The main drawback suffered by the Nieuport 17 was much like the German Albatros, it was limited in high speed maneuvers. Most Nieuport 17s were equipped with an overwing mounted Lewis gun and a synchronized Vickers machine gun firing through the propeller. This aircraft was mostly flown by the French and the American pilots of the Escadrille Americaine. This group later became known as the Escadrille Lafayette after some German diplomatic pressure.

1 model aircraft made from 1/16 inch Ash wood, included 1 flight stand made of 1/8 inch Birch plywood and two magnets.

Some assembly required.
