Appearing much like it's contemporary the Albatros machine, the Pfalz proved to be less agile but lacked none of the wing/strut problems as with the Albatros. The Pfalz III was outmatched by the Sopwith Camel, Se5a, and Spad XIII but was robust and reliable. Over 1000 Pfalz DIIIs were in service with the German Jagdstaffeln between 1917 and 1918.
