The mon (family crest) of the Kuroda. A samurai family from Kyushu. At it's head was Kuroda Nagamasa a Christian daimyo that provided much excellent service for Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Korean campaigns. Nagamasa fought in many battles and gained valuable experience in numerous sieges both attacking and defending. Kuroda Nagamasa eventually sided with and joined the Tokugawa for the Sekigahara campaign. Kuroda Yoshitaka was Nagamasa's father but used a different mon.
Almost all mon can be found to be used by many different samurai throughout the centuries.
