The mon (family crest) of the Tsugaru and Hachisuka clans. This mon was used by many different samurai and sohei (warrior monks). Being a Buddhist symbol it was also found on many temples and within many of the ikko-ikki armies. One of the more prominent families to use this mon was that of the northern Tsugaru, led by Tsugaru Nobuhira who intelligently backed Tokugawa Ieyasu during Sekigahara and after.
Almost all mon can be found to be used by many different samurai throughout the centuries.
